Meet Su, Ohio’s Newest Construction Worker

Every now and again, something appears on my social media feed that makes me stop scrolling, smile and think, okay, I need to know more about this. This is definitely one of those things.

Meet Su, a tiny kitten who somehow found herself inside a Komatsu excavator at a construction site in Barberton, Ohio, United States of America. The construction crew heard her meowing, checked the machinery and eventually managed to get her out. Rather than simply waving goodbye and sending her on her way, they warmed her up, took care of her and she has now found herself with a rather unexpected new role: official shop cat or Boss - if you ask me. And honestly, I think she may already be better at the job than some of us. Done belive me, check out the photos below provided by River Reach Construction.

The crew named her Su, short for Komatsu, and the story has taken off online, with people completely falling in love with this tiny construction worker. She has even been given her own miniature hard hat and hi-vis vest, which frankly feels like exactly the sort of employee welcome package she deserved.

What I love about stories like this isn't just the cuteness, although let's be honest, look at her! It's the fact that a group of 'hard' people doing an ordinary day's work stopped, listened and cared about something very small that could easily have been overlooked.

Someone heard a tiny noise coming from a massive piece of machinery and instead of thinking, that's probably nothing, they investigated. Because they did, this little kitten now has a safe place, a name and, apparently, a very important position in the company hierarchy.

I also find it hilarious how quickly the internet has promoted her from kitten found in an excavator to supervisor. I'm not convinced she's going to be taking instructions from anyone for very long. I know cats and they never take!

And this is exactly why I've decided to start Internet Finds on Tribe Tesi. Not everything I share needs to teach us something, sell us something or turn into a deep conversation about business. Sometimes you just find something lovely, funny, unexpected or completely random while scrolling and think, people need to see this.

Today, that thing... I beg your pardon, that cutie Su.  Tiny cat. Massive excavator. New job.

What more could you want from the internet?

When Generosity Becomes A Lesson In Boundaries

There’s a quiet kind of anger that comes when you realise your generosity has been taken for granted. Not because you expected praise or rewards, but because you offered it from a genuine place, without conditions, without keeping score. You gave your time, your...
